If you love words, you need to understand zines. On Saturday, July 26th from 2-4 PM, @jax_comix_core will be showcasing the Library’s Zine Collection at @HappyMediumBooksCafe to show you just how easy it is to publish your own work.
It’s a ZINE IN!
And it is FREE!
I’ll be introducing the medium, breaking down distinct subgenres (from perzines to political tracts), and demonstrating tactical tools like the booklet stapler. We’ll have a table packed with free making materials so you can prototype your own writing into a neat 8-page folded format.
And I’m calling all zinesters who want to help to come do a LIVE zine read-aloud.
If you’re a local zinester or writer, come share your pages with a room of fellow creatives.
