Join us for an afternoon of poetry at Happy Medium!

Eliot Kersgaard (they/she), currently living in Jacksonville, Florida, is a lifelong writer and educator. She is inspired by life’s everyday moments, the patterns and details of our living planet, and the many flavored connections between people. Eliot has produced and self-published a children’s activity book (2017) and a collection of poetry (2023). She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2024 and is working on a novel, which treats themes of unlearning, gender, sexuality, and the many ways we struggle toward self actualization and self acceptance.

R.B. Says is a local poet and singer-songwriter here in Jacksonville, FL. Like many folks in their early twenties, he grapples with life’s deeper questions: “Who am I? Where do I fit in this world?” As a result, his poems and songs reflect this coming-of-age spar with an emerging self that many of us know well. Community and meaningful connection to others are the pillars of R.B.’s world. He can be found sipping coffee and collaborating with other local artists at Solune Coffee in Riverside and strumming his green guitar at various open mics around town.

Brooks Decker is a writer, artist, and mental health professional. Originally from Atlanta, she is enjoying Jacksonville for now. Her writing has been featured in a couple local anthologies, and her first chapbook, Purge & Bloom, was released in 2023 by Quillkeepers Press.
