Bookstore Crawl!

Bookstore Crawl: Join the Snail Trail!

Slow & steady writes the story! Presenting a free 4-part community writing series
at local bookstores every Saturday in April.

Jacksonville, FL – March 27, 2025 – This April, Women Writing for (a) Change Jacksonville invites you to hit pause and embrace the power of slow storytelling with Bookstore Crawl: Join the Snail Trail!, a month-long celebration of writing, reflection, and community.

  • Each Saturday in April, we’ll gather at beloved local bookstores (most of which are owned by women!) for free, welcoming writing circles centered on the theme of “snailing down”—moving slowly and deliberately, like our wise mascot, the snail. With themes like “Slow Beginnings” and “Under the Shell,” this four-part series offers a chance to explore personal stories, connect with others, and savor the joy of words.
  • Pick up a Library Checkout Card at your first event and collect a stamp each week. Attend all four, and you’ll be entered into a raffle for a free writing class sampler!

“This series is an invitation to breathe, reflect, and write at a gentler pace,” says organizer

Jennifer Wolfe. “We’re honoring what’s possible when we slow down—in bookstores, in community, and on the page.”
